I AM ENGAGED!!

So this is a long over due post. but i am engaged!!! i am getting married on August 1st. i am so excited. His name is Devan Vowell. we met through a mutual friend and the rest is history. we became engaged on May 20th. Here is the story of our engagement: earlier that day i was attacked by a stray cat which i then had to get a tetnus shot and had to be put on antibiotics. i was sore and tired and i had to go to work. well devan came and pick me up from work and asked me to ride with him to his brothers house i said okay , i was being a brat in the car well he gets to greenfield and pecos where the new temple will be built and pulls off the road. he wanted to see where the temple was going to be built, but when we pulled over i was like we do not need to pull over the temple is going to be right there there is no point to stop. so he gets on the road and flips around and pulls of again, at this point i was tired and getting alittle annoyed so i was like why did you pull over. devan was like you drive tosses me the keys and gets out of the car. i say no and throw the keys back to the drivers seat. he comes around to my side of the car and i let him know there was no way i was getting out. he opens the door and gets down on one knee and asks me to marry him. the first thing i said was did you ask my dad? i know i am a dork but after he said he did i said YES!!! that weekend we went to my arrington reunion and he was officially accpeted into the family. then the following wednesday my grandma arrington passed away unexpectantly. what a pleasing it is to have the church in my life to know that i will be with my family for eternity. i am so grateful my grandma was able to get to know devan. a couple of weeks prior to her passing i went up north with her and coming back we were playing yatzee and she was getting mad at me and joking around she said "i am going to die before you get married" a week later i got engaged i called her up and asked her if she needs to start planning her funeral cause i am engaged, well a week later she passed away unexpectantly.. who would of known i keep telling myself it was just a joke but then i think was it a preperation... i know my grandma wont be here physically for my wedding but spiritually she will be here. here are some pictures i will update again soon... oh yea i will be moving back into my gilbert house!!!!

Hey,

I decided I would update the blog since neither one of my sisters or me have in a few months.

First off my little sister, Sharee is graduating from high school in two months almost to the date. She is currently deciding where she would like to go to college. She was going to go to Chandler Gilbert Polytechnic campus but its closing so she is looking around. This past week she came down to Tucson and visited me and Porter and Nick. She helped us put our grass in and got all scratched up :-( But we are happy to have our backyard finally done. We went to a spring training game too while she was down here with our dad and little brother. That was fun. She'll have to keep yoou guys updated as she decides where she is going to college and what is up next for her.

Next up is my older sister. She is in her second semester of the nursing program and dating a guy named Devan. She got a job at the Barney Family Sports Complex besides that and church she stays pretty busy. She studies a lot and is working pretty hard in school. I'm proud of her. (I would put a picture up of her but I don't have any recent pics, sorry.) she'll just have to add some herself.

As for me, I am just staying at home with Porter. I am awaiting the results for my EIPA, educational interpreting test to be able to actually interpret in schools. Nick graduates in May and then I am not sure where we will be. We are waiting to hear back from law schools right now as well as looking for jobs. So in the meantime I am just being a stay-at-home mom. Its a lot of fun.

For those who have not seen porter here is a nice photo shoot of him. He was born on October 5 2008 at 1.15 am and weighed pounds 6 ounces. Kaylynn did great. she had a very good pregnancy. On october 4th she and nick went to dinner after the priesthood session and when they got home she threw up the first time her whole pregnancy. her contractions started around eight. she went into the hospital around 11 pm. then she found she was dilated to a 6. she had porter at 1:15 am. she did not have any pain medication or an epiderhal. they are both doing great. kaylynn went back to school about 1 1/2 after having porter and she will graduate college on december 18 she is excited. porter is growing so big and smiles all the time and rarely cries he looks like his dad but has characteristics of his grandpa arrington. He is weighing in at about 10 pounds now. I am finishing up my first semester of nursing school and i am so excited for a break. sharee is half way through her senior year i can not believe she is graduating.

So I just want you all to know I have figured out how to add stuff to the blog. I decided I needed to add stuff too because so far its only been Ash and Sharee. First off it's a boy!! So as soon as I have access to a scanner I will put pictures of my little boy and Ashley's and Sharee's soon to be favorite nephew ; ) on here. until then here are some lovely pics. . .

So for any one that doesn't know my little sister is going to have a baby on October 10. i am so excited to be an aunt again i will have to post a prego picture of her later but is exciting she is so cute. And sharee finished softball and did okay.

so i went to Idaho it was a blast the first pic is of the rexburg temple.
the second is of the corner stone used for the dedication.
third is the drive way of the house we stayed at in utah we shovelled the it at 2 am so we can park the car in the garage.
and the last is of me and michelle in front of the temple. it was so much fun to go visit her and to freeze my butt off but the snow was a blast.

This is Kaylynn she is 19 years old. she is married to Nick Patten. they were married on June 8th 2007. she is majoring in deaf studies and is attending the Uof A . She is the the best sister she loves to read and also plays the piano really well and also draws very well.

This is my dear little sister Sharee. she is seventeen years old and is a junior at Gilbert High School. she is Currently trying out for softball. good luck girl. she is really good at sign language and at art. she is also a fabulous piano player. She is so much fun and full of energy.

I am just going to do a few post about us.

I am ashley i am 21 and i am majoring in nursing. right now i am just working while i wait to get into nursing school. I currently am in the Valencia ward in Queen Creek . i love to read and i decided i needed to read something harder so i started to read Jesus the Christ it is tuff but i am enjoying it. I also got a simplified hymn book so i can teach myself to play the piano i will keep you updated.
